On 23rd May 2015 Noiya Jam returns for its 7th year. Here’s what organizer and Noiya clothing co owner Tim has to say about it…..

After firmly establishing ourselves as one of the UK’s premier annual events, we are back for an unbelievable 7th year, to once again showcase some of the finest blading talent in the land, to revel in the mastery of their craft, and to celebrate our community’s culture. Oh and of course to participate in some slightly irresponsible behaviour.

Be at Sheffield’s House Skatepark on the 23rd May to enjoy the vibe of probably the most relaxed and enjoyable competition environment around. You all know the deal by now, you’ve seen the edits from previous years (If you haven’t go check them out now), the Noiya Jam always goes off! Expect high quality blading from some of the UK’s very best.

As Yorkshire’s biggest and best annual blading event we like to evolve every year, and the addition of the House’s superb new indoor concrete bowl means we now able to hold a Bowl Jam, to compliment our other new addition, the Flatground High Jump Face-Off.

Entry will be £5 whether you are spectating, skating or entering the jam. As usual all the money taken on the door will go towards the Expert prize money pot, which stands at £300 for first place, £150 for second, and £75 for 3rd.

As usual we will have a trade stall set up selling all kinds of blading goodies, often at highly reduced prices, so make sure you bring some extra cash and grab yourself a bargain.

We opted to hold the event on a bank holiday weekend once again to make sure you all get a chance to check out some of Sheffield’s street spots if you decide to stay for the weekend.

There will be Jams (and random giveaways) happening throughout the day including:

– 15 and Under (SlammJamm Qualifier) (Midday start)
– Open (2.30pm start)
– Expert (5pm start)
– Best Trick (after Expert)
– Flatground High Jump Face-Off
– Bowl Jam

The format for the Unders, Open and Expert events will be 5 people skating the park in 5 minute rounds, with the judges favourite from each round going through to the semi-finals where the top two will go through to the final.

There is a limit of 30 riders in each category, allocated purely on a first-come-first-served basis, so make sure you get down early to secure your place.
