SKATEBOARDING legend Tas Pappas will be visiting The House Skatepark on Monday 9th June coinciding with the screenings of a documentary of his professional triumphs and tragedies at the Showroom Cinema for this year’s Doc/Fest film festival. The pro-skater whose incredible career is charted in All This Mayhem (18 certificate) is visiting us from around 6pm, giving Sheffield skaters the chance to witness the talents of one skateboarding’s true superstars.
All This Mayhem, screening on Sunday, 8th June at 6.30pm and on Tuesday 10th June at 9pm tells the story of Tas and his skater brother Ben from their early lives in Australia to their success in the United States, where they took on some of the biggest names in vert skateboarding, including Tony Hawk, before the hectic yet unforgiving ‘good life’ took its toll. An exploration of the best and the bleakest sides of the scene, the film is compiled from archive footage and interviews about Tas’s life in skateboarding’s fast lane.
Were thrilled that such a big name in skating’s history will be paying us a visit to meet locals and give out some of his decks created by Cliché . Anyone who wants to see one of the greats showcasing his skills should really get themselves down. If you want to see the film, Sheffield skate shop Slugger is offering the chance to win tickets to the movie which includes a Q and A session with Tas.
